September 24 - San Diego Zoo Food, Wine & Brew Celebration

This is a great party! Each year the San Diego Zoo holds a “Food and Wine & Brew Celebration” and 2016 is their 36th annual event. And, Solare will be there again in full force. It is one of our top/favorite events! It is held at the Zoo, of course. VIP admission is 6:30pm to 11pm ~ and General Admission at 7:30pm to 11pm. September 23 - Solare+Fortaleza Tequila Tasting Dinner

Be amazed by how well Chef Accursio’s cuisine pairs with the world’s best tequila, Fortaleza! Join me as I lead the 4-course dinner and tasting with an evening of fun details and photos of everything about agave, tequila, and Jalisco. Learn how the agave is grown and used to make this amazing spirit. 7pm Reception with a Welcome Cocktail that Tommy designed … and 7:30pm Dinner. $58 for the 4-course dinner and $24 for the Fortaleza for the evening. September 17 - Solare @ San Diego Gourmet Pizza Fest

Solare will be at this cool PIZZA EVENT right here in Liberty Station – right across the street from Solare. Yes, the San Diego Gourmet Pizza Fest is a 21+ outdoor festival showcasing amazing restaurants competing for San Diego’s best gourmet pizza. The pizza will be judged by a panel of judges, as well as our attendees, and will include 10 beer samples. Join this great day lounging with friends listening to music, tastings and more! When: September 17th — Time: 11:00am to 2:00pm — Where: NTC Liberty Station — Ingram Plaza — 2640 Historic Decatur Rd, San Diego, CA 92106. At the festival, you will get to sample pizza from the many restaurants, vote for your favorite, sample at least 10 beer tastings, listen to great music, and all in our wonderful San Diego weather. September 10 - Cooking Class – Authentic Pizza from Scratch

Have you ever wanted to learn how to make pizza in the authentic style from the renowned city of Napoli? How about a tasty Sfincione from Sicily; Focaccia from Liguria? Here is your perfect opportunity — Pizza Chef Brian will guide you through each step – starting with making the dough from scratch. Each student will take home extra dough to show off their pizza making skills that evening at home! The fun starts at 10:30am at Solare with an Italian-style coffee of your choice and a pastry. Italian wine is served for students interested in “cooking with wine”. – Class size limited — $75/student that includes the class, wine, and lunch. Contact us for details.

August 26 - Best of San Diego Party – San Diego Magazine

In the fountain courtyard right behind Solare, San Diego Magazine is having their annual “Best of San Diego” Party!! Solare is a Winner in 3 categories so we will be there in full force. August 15 - Ferragosto Wine Dinner @ Piazza 1909 with 4 Italian Chefs!

Join this fun dinner! Three Italian restaurants with 4 Italian Chefs have been teaming up since December, and this is the 3rd Dinner the Team is doing … and this tinme it is at Piazza 1909! The dinner features: Chefs Cassineri Mario and Francesca Penoncelli from Bice San Diego ~ Chef Stefano Ceresoli from Piazza 1909 ~ Chef Accursio Lota from Solare Ristorante.

Great cuisine & wine tasting dinner under the stars. Made in Italy! And August 15 is “Ferragosto”, which is a major summer Italian feast introduced by emperor Augustus in 18 BC to celebrate the harvest and the end of a long period of intense agricultural labor.
