March 25 - Tommy Gomes – An Evening of Seafood
Ciao! Guess what?
We are very lucky to have Tommy Gomes – Master Fishmonger – here at Solare for an “Evening of Seafood” Dinner on Wednesday, March 25.
We have a 5-course dinner by Exec Chef Denice Grande featuring the great seafood delicacies that we have selected with Tommy.
Tommy is actively filming his next season of “The Fishmonger” so you will hear all about that – and all the latest seasonal catch that is happening now.

March 20 - Boutique Wine Dinner in Tuscany
Would you be available to join me for a small intimate Wine Dinner in our Private Room on Friday, March 20? The first day of Spring!
Limited to 20 guests (that is the max) around one table – we will focus on the wines of two great Tuscan wineries: Bibi Graetz and Bertinga. Chef Denice and I started on the menu this afternoon.
I was made aware of this opportunity this morning, and decided to jump on it. It will be fun!

- 4 great Tuscan wines:
- Bibi Graetz – 3 wines including their epic Testamatta (100% Sangiovese)
- Bertinga – Their 2021 vintage of 100% Sangiovese Chianti Classico DOCG (2021 is rated an incredible vintage in Chianti and also Barolo)
- $92 includes the 4 wines and the 4-course dinner with dishes focused on Tuscany

March 11 - March 12 - Wine Dinner – La Rioja Alta – Two Nights – My Favorite!
La Rioja Alta Wine Dinner!
Just confirmed — and I am so excited!! My favorite winery in the world will be here at Solare.
“La Rioja Alta” Estate is the estate, and we have Jose Luis Navarro from the winery here for two nights: Wednesday, March 11, and Thursday, March 12.
This is the Legend of Spain! Fabulous expressions of Tempranillo and more. Really food friendly and all around delicious.

March 10 - Italian Wine Dinner – Winemakers here from Mount Etna and Tuscany
Italian Wine Dinner – Tuesday, March 10 – Here is what’s happening:
There are two Italian winemakers that are traveling across the United States, and they will be in San Diego for one day — and we are delighted to announce that they are leading the Wine Dinner on March 10.
We have Angelo di Grazia from the Tornatore Estate on the slopes of Mount Etna – and we have Barbara Widmer from the Brancaia Estate in Tuscany.
Tornatore Estate has been farming since the 1500’s (!!) and has been making quality wines on Mount Etna since the 1860’s. One highlight we will be serving is their Nerello Mascalese from the Pietrarizza Contrada.
Brancaia Estate has been making wine since the early 1980’s and their focus is Sangiovese and Super Tuscans. We are excited to serve their “Ilatraia” Super Tuscan at the Dinner.
