February 07 - Italian Wine Dinner – Chiara Boschis and Barolo

This is exciting – we have one of the top legends from Barolo here to lead a wonderful Wine Dinner.

Yes, we have winemaker and estate owner, Chiara Boschis, joining us on her one-day visit to San Diego.

Chiara for the last 35+ years has been a top driving force for everything happening in the world of Barolo.

Part of her claim to fame is that she was a key member of the “Barolo Boys” – a small group of winemakers and owners in Barolo that redefined the wine style and made the category the success it now is. She will tell you all about it!

While Chiara is very famous and influential, her winery is family-owned and “boutique” – she produces a very limited amount (~5,000 cases total) of high-end wines.

Her Barolo from the Cannubi cru is one of the best wines made in the region.

We love doing Cooking Classes here at Solare!

Our Cooking Classes offer a truly hands-on experience allowing each student to create Italian cuisine themselves to make at home.  Our classes are not just a “demonstration”.

The fun typically starts at 10:30am at Solare (10am for some classes) with an Italian-style coffee of your choice.  Italian wine is served for students interested in “cooking with wine”.

Our first Wine Dinner of 2025! Thursday January 9.

We have the winemaker and owner, Lucio Gomiero, of Vignalta Estate of Veneto, Italy, here to lead the evening.

A good friend – amazing human being – and charismatic speaker on all things wine.

Lucio is also a lifelong student of the history and area of his hometown of Padua in Veneto – located about halfway between Verona and Venice. An area incredibly rich in history – as you will learn. This is also the land of Romeo & Juliet.
