October 19 - Solare at Taste of Point Loma

October 15 - Italian Wine Dinner with Bertani Estate

This is a first! We are having a Wine Dinner next Sunday – and it’s starting at 1pm.

Yes, a Sunday afternoon dinner – great wine and a pairing menu from Chef Denice – and you have the rest of the afternoon and evening to relax and do other fun things.

This is “An Afternoon in Verona” with Bertani Estate winery. Bertani was founded in 1857 (166 years ago) and is one of the first wineries to create the legendary Amarone wine.

Exec Chef Denice is designing a 4-course pairing menu that features the cuisine of the Veronese region.

October 10 - Fortaleza Tequila Dinner!

Finally! Tommy and I have been waiting and waiting for the time when we built up enough stock of Fortaleza Tequila that we could do a dinner here at Solare. 

And we just made it happen! 

So – we are having a (really fun) Fortaleza Tequila Pairing Dinner here at Solare this Tuesday, October 10.

The evening begins with a special cocktail that Tommy has designed.

We are pouring the (very rare) Fortaleza Winter Blend plus the Blanco, Reposado, and Anejo.

Be amazed by how well our Italian cuisine pairs with the world’s best tequila, Fortaleza! Join me as I lead the 3-course dinner and tasting with an evening of fun details and photos of everything about agave, tequila, and Jalisco. 

Be at Solare at 6:30pm for the Reception with a Welcome Cocktail.

October 07 - Cooking Class: Authentic Pizza from Scratch

Have you ever wanted to learn how to make pizza in the authentic style from the renowned city of Napoli? How about a tasty Sfincione from Sicily; Focaccia from Liguria? Here is your perfect opportunity.

Pizza Chef Brian will guide you through each step – starting with making the dough from scratch. This is very HANDS ON – you are learning to make pizza and not just watching someone else show you. Each student will take home extra dough to show off their pizza making skills that evening at home!

The lesson is held in our kitchen and is “hands-on” and not a mere cooking “demonstration”.  The fun starts at 10:30am at Solare with an Italian-style coffee of your choice. Italian wine is served for students interested in “cooking with wine”.  Important: Please wear closed toe shoes.  Class size is small and intimate and limited to approximately 10 students.  $95++/student that includes the class, wine, and lunch. September 23 - San Diego Zoo – Food Wine & Brew Celebration

This is a great party! Each year the San Diego Zoo holds a “Food Wine & Brew Celebration” and 2023 is their 43rd annual event.

Solare will be there again in full force. It is held at the Zoo, and VIP entrance is 6:30pm ~ Early Admission at 6:30pm ~ and General Admission at 7:30pm. Get all the details here and visit our cool booth. Let’s get wild at the Zoo!
