April 23 - Cooking Class: Gnocchi and Bolognese

A full immersion in gnocchi and slow braised Bolognese sauce — the essence of the Emilia-Romagna region. You will learn to twist the traditional recipe of gnocchi, by filling them with sausages, by creating different tastes, and shapes, so you can surprise your family and guest at home. The fun starts at 10:30am at Solare with an Italian-style coffee of your choice and a pastry. Italian wine is served for students interested in “cooking with wine”. – Limit 10 – $75/student that includes the class, wine, and lunch. Contact us for details.

April 21 - CatalinaOP + Tommy Gomes Seafood Dinner – Beware!

Do you love seafood? If yes, this could be the most special dinner you’ll have! This is because we have the amazing Tommy Gomes of Catalina Offshore Products here for an “Evening of Seafood”. The short summary is that we know of no one that knows more about seafood … and who has stronger opinions! … than Tommy. And he is an excellent speaker with fun charisma and he will both delight you and scare you with his talk. It is $75/person for the dinner with Tommy Gomes and Solare, and a special 5-course dinner has been designed by Chef Accursio. 6:30pm. ~~ Sold Out

April 09 - Cooking Class: Ossobuco and Risotto

For this class, you will be transported form San Diego to Lombardia, Italy, to learn how the perfect Ossobuco is made. The key to classic Ossobuco is exactly how the meat is braised, and that is one of many things you will learn from Chef Accursio. Lombardia is famous for their Ossobuco! And what does a wonderful plate of Osso Buco need? Risotto! Chef Accursio will also lead you to prepare the world’s best risotto where the rice is the prefect level of “creamy-ness” but the kernels are still whole and firm. This is great risotto – but it is not easy to make – unless you join this class! The fun starts at 10:30am at Solare with an Italian-style coffee of your choice and a pastry. April 07 - SoundBite – a Musical Dining Experience!

This is a fun evening! We have paired our Solare cuisine with wine — beer — cocktails — chocolate — and now we are pairing it with … MUSIC! Yes, we have a 6-course dinner where each course is paired with a song. Really! We have the band, Gabriela & La Buena Onda, that will be performing live at Solare and each of their songs goes with a course that Chef Nick Brune, Jeff Bonilla, and Chef Accursio Lotà have prepared. April 02 - VinDiego

Solare is excited to be a wonderful part of the 4th Annual VinDiego Wine and Food Festival – we’ve been here every year! Here are the details: San Diego, America’s finest city, will once again become the epicenter of the California wine world on Saturday, April 2. That’s when one of the largest wine-only events of the California ultra-elite winemaking masters will assemble, for the fourth annual “VinDiego Wine and Food Festival” presented at the NTC Liberty Station in beautiful Point Loma. VIP 3pm to 7pm and General Admission from 4pm to 7pm. You can purchase tickets here.
