August 15 - Ferragosto Wine Dinner @ Piazza 1909 with 4 Italian Chefs!

Join this fun dinner! Three Italian restaurants with 4 Italian Chefs have been teaming up since December, and this is the 3rd Dinner the Team is doing … and this tinme it is at Piazza 1909! The dinner features: Chefs Cassineri Mario and Francesca Penoncelli from Bice San Diego ~ Chef Stefano Ceresoli from Piazza 1909 ~ Chef Accursio Lota from Solare Ristorante.

And August 15 is “Ferragosto”, which is a major summer Italian feast introduced by emperor Augustus in 18 BC to celebrate the harvest and the end of a long period of intense agricultural labor. August 13 - August 14 - ArtWalk @ Liberty Station 2016

Right across the street from Solare! And NOTE that Solare is open for Lunch on *both* Saturday and Sunday this weekend for the event (normally we open at 4:30pm on Sundays). I recommend reservations for lunch (and dinner!) this weekend. It’s a wonderful event! Yes, celebrate Creativity at ArtWalk Liberty Station . This 11th annual festival moved to Liberty Station in 2013, and the venue was a tremendous success. Artists love the flat grassy park with easy load-in and strike access, and the layout provides every artist with a corner space. Attendees will enjoy the opportunity to purchase artwork from more than 175 fine artists, all in a beautiful al fresco setting, plus live music, interactive art for adults and kids, and delicious street food options. August 12 - Solare+Fortaleza Tequila Tasting Dinner

Be amazed by how well Chef Accursio’s cuisine pairs with the world’s best tequila, Fortaleza! Join me as I lead the 4-course dinner and tasting with an evening of fun details and photos of everything about agave, tequila, and Jalisco. Learn how the agave is grown and used to make this amazing spirit. 6:30pm Reception with a Welcome Cocktail that Tommy designed … and 7pm Dinner. $58 for the 4-course dinner and $24 for the Fortaleza for the evening. July 30 - Cooking Class – Authentic Pizza from Scratch

Have you ever wanted to learn how to make pizza in the authentic style from the renowned city of Napoli? How about a tasty Sfincione from Sicily; Focaccia from Liguria? Here is your perfect opportunity — Pizza Chef Brian will guide you through each step – starting with making the dough from scratch. Each student will take home extra dough to show off their pizza making skills that evening at home! The fun starts at 10:30am at Solare with an Italian-style coffee of your choice and a pastry. July 27 - Wine Dinner with Ocean Beach Winery, Gianni Buonomo Vintners

Yes, there is a great “urban winery” right here in Ocean Beach! Gianni Buonomo Vintners. The owner and winemaker is Keith Rolle, and he will not only share his wines with us, but also teach us what is happening now with urban wineries, and all about the grapes that he selects from Washington State and California. (In Italian, “buon uomo” means “good man.” Gianni is “beneducato” – that is, well mannered. He is the consummate gentleman. Like many Italians, Gianni is passionate about food and passionate about wine.) This is a 4-course dinner designed by Chef Accursio. The price is $84/person that includes 5 delicious wines from Gianni Buonomo. 6:45pm Dinner and 6:15pm Reception. RSVP!

July 23 - Salsa under the Stars at Liberty Station

Enjoy a beautiful evening of Latin music, Salsa dancing, and fine dining at ARTS DISTRICT Liberty Station. At this FREE event you’ll have an opportunity to hear the Manny Cepeda Orchestra from 6 PM – 9 PM and take a dance lesson from Cori-ography Dance from 5 PM – 6 PM on the plaza right in front of The LOT luxury cinemas in ARTS DISTRICT Liberty Station. Enjoy a specially crafted meal at Solare Ristorante Italiano Bar & Lounge and stroll through ARTS DISTRICT studios, galleries, museums. It’s all happening here in Liberty Station.
