May 21 - Solare’s “Heart of Spring” Feast
Solare at our best! We are having our 3rd annual hyper-local “Heart of Spring” feast on Sunday, May 21, to celebrate the flavors and tastes of Spring in San Diego. Everything is from San Diego County! This is extra-special as we will be doing the dinner outside on the lawn next to Solare … Under the Sky! We have one long community table … and we have teamed with folks across San Diego County for all the ingredients and drinks. As examples, we are working with Tommy Gomes at Catalina Offshore to have a “caught that day” whole fish be prepared “gills to tail” for the dinner – and we will have lamb and pork for meats. Farms and produce suppliers across San Diego are teaming with us too. And, of course, we are working with San Diego County wineries, breweries, and distillers of fine spirits. Please send us a note if you would like to be notified when tickets are available ~ The dinner begins at 5pm ~ $125/person excluding tax/gratuity. Advance confirmed reservations and tickets required. May 16 - Italian Wine Dinner: Sette Ponti Winery – a Tuscan Gem! – Sold Out
Tenuta Sette Ponti is one of the top wineries in Tuscany, and we have Silvio di Silvio from the winery here in San Diego to lead this dinner. You will not want to miss this! Silvio has been a good friend for 4+ years … and he has shown me all around Verona, Italy, several times when we have been there for the big annual Italian wine conference. This is a 4-course dinner designed by Chef Accursio, and the dinner is $92 which include the 5 wines and the 4-course dinner. You’ll love these wines … and we are pouring their epic Orena Super Tuscan wine among other classics. Here is a good video describing the Oreno. May 14 - 4th Annual Mother’s Day Brunch @ Solare!
Important! Mother’s Day will be here before you know it – and now is the time to make your reservation so you can get the best times for a delicious brunch. We are having a wonderful à la carte menu with both Italian and American flavors … plus special dishes designed by Chef Accursio. Brunch is 9:30am to 2pm. Click here to make your reservation. Dinner service then starts at 4:30pm.

May 06 - Cooking Class: Fish and Shellfish + Fish Market
Meet at Solare and drive together to a local fish market (less than 3 miles) to learn about fish and buying fresh fish with confidence. Then we all head back to Solare to prepare and cook some great seafood dishes. Chef Accursio was born on the coast of the island of Sicily, and he will teach you how to cook the following incredible dishes: Traditional Cioppino (fish stew), Crudo all’Italiana (sashimi Italian style!), and “Pesce alla Siciliana” (whole fish). Seafood lovers will not want to miss this opportunity. NOTE that for this class, the fun starts at 10am instead of the normal 10:30am as we are visiting the fish market. We meet at Solare with an Italian-style coffee of your choice and a pastry. Italian wine is served for students interested in “cooking with wine”. – Limit 10 — $85/student that includes the class, wine, and lunch. Contact us for details.

Do you love seafood? If yes, this could be the most special dinner you’ll have! This is because we have the amazing Tommy Gomes of Catalina Offshore Products here for an “Evening of Seafood”. The short summary is that we know of no one that knows more about seafood … and who has stronger opinions! … than Tommy. And he is an excellent speaker with fun charisma and he will both delight you and scare you with his talk. It is $75/person for the dinner with Tommy Gomes and Solare, and a special 5-course dinner has been designed by Chef Accursio. 6:30pm. Reserve now! It will sell-out quickly.
