October 15 - Baja Chefs on the Point 2017 ~ Point Loma Optimist Club
Baja Chefs! In Liberty Station!! And Solare will be doing the pre-event Cooking Class!
This is the 3rd annual charity benefit for Dewey Elementary School in Point Loma — Baja Chefs on the Point 2017. Featuring the chefs, cuisine, and wines of Baja California’s wine country, the Valle de Gaudalupe. It is an afternoon of music, food, and wine with some of Baja California’s best restaurants and chef – hosted at Stone Brewery. Building on the success of the recent addition of a Math and Science lab at Dewey Elementary, the Optimist Club Foundation of Point Loma is seeking to expand the new lab into a full-fledged STEAM program. The addition of Technology, Arts and Engineering to the Science and Math lab will provide the Dewey student with a well-rounded education. Specifically, the Foundation is raising funds to provide computers and books for the expansion of the School library; a Makerbot starter kit for exploration of engineering and technology; and art supplies to expand the students creativity. October 03 - Vias Italian Wine Tasting @ Solare $25
Vias Imports + Henry Wine Group + Solare teams up for an awesome Italian Wine Tasting!
Yes, we set up a special fun Italian Wine Tasting this Tuesday, Oct 3 – 5pm to 7pm. The short story is that we have an “industry tasting” of Italian wines at Solare early in the afternoon this day – and we thought it would be fun to open it up to all wine lovers as a second round later in the afternoon.
Do This: 50+ Italian wines in a walk-around tasting + great people to meet + Solare finger foods. All for $25. Don’t be late – RSVP right away. The attendance is very limited – so please RSVP if you think you’d like to join.

October 01 - Emilio Nares Foundation – Harvest for Hope
The Emilio Nares Foundation (ENF) is amazing – and Solare will be helping sponsor them again this year at their 13th Annual Harvest of Hope event. The ENF provides family support systems and information for families with children with cancer. “Harvest of Hope” is from 1pm to 4pm at the cool San Diego Central Library. Solare will be there with a special dish! See you on October 1st!

September 27 - September 29 - Pasta World Championship! ~ Milano & Parma, Italia
Latest Update: ++ 7am Friday: Juust Announced!! Chef Accursio WINS the Pasta World Championship!!! Oh my!! This is so so so happy!!! Go Chef Accursio – you Rock!!!
Latest Update: ++ 10am Thursday: Chef Accursio advances to the Final Round!! Yes, he makes the Top 3!!! The final competition starts tomorrow in Parma, Italy, at 9am local time (midnight in California). Go Accursio!!!
Latest Update: ++ 9:30am Wednesday: Accursio survives the first round!! He is chosen as one of the Top 10 competitors … 10 other competitors “go home”. The field is now 10 chefs (from 20) … and they start again tomorrow at 9am Milano time. Yay!
Latest Update: ++ 11am Monday: Chef Accursio took off Monday afternoon for Milano. Competition starts Wednesday!
Congratulations … and Best of Luck … to Chef Accursio! Congrats because he was selected as 1 of 20 chefs in the world to compete in the Annual Pasta World Championship … and Best of Luck because the competition is Sep 27 to 29 in Milano and Parma, Italy. The focus is pasta … and Chef Accursio is designing fascinating (and delicious) spaghetti dishes “as we speak”. Click here to watch a great video of Chef Accursio that the organizers created. Yay!! September 27 - Italian Wine Dinner: Antinori Wine Dinner, Legendary Tuscan Winery– Sold Out
Antinori is arguably the most prestigious and well known winery in all of Italy. And we will be having a special dinner focused on their wines! Lorenzo Mottola will be traveling to San Diego to lead a 4-course Solare/Antinori Wine Dinner designed by Chef Accursio where each course is paired with carefully selected wines from their estates in Tuscany. Antinori can trace its history back to 1385 … and they played a large part in the “Super-Tuscan” revolution of the 1970s. For the 4-course dinner and the 5 Antinori wines, it is $115/person. 6:45pm Dinner ~ 6:15pm Reception with Lorenzo. – This is Antinori … and this Dinner features the wines of their best estate, Guado al Tasso. September 24 - October 01 - San Diego Restaurant Week
Solare is participating in San Diego Restaurant Week this year – #SDRW! $40++ dinner and $20 lunch. We are excited! We are offering the special menu we designed for Restaurant Week as well as our “regular” lunch and dinner menus. Click here to read what @sandiegoville wrote about us … Solare is “Saturday”! And, note that during Restaurant week, the last lunch seating is 2:45pm and then dinner service begins at 4:30pm. We will be open for drinks, wine, beer, cocktails, etc., all afternoon. Resto Week!
