<a id="Solare-Ghost-Block-Wine-Dinner">Napa Valley “Ghost Block” Wine</a><span style="color: black;"> - Sold Out</span>

June 21 - Napa Valley “Ghost Block” Wine – Sold Out

OK, we know that Italy produces fabulous wine … but did you know there are some good ones that come from Napa Valley too? 🙂 All kidding aside, we are blessed to have Morgaen Hoxsey here in San Diego to lead this special Wine Dinner … her family owns Ghost Block Winery (think cult cabernet sauvignon), Oakville Winery, and more. For over 100 years (since 1903), her family has harvested grapes in Napa Valley supplying some of Napa Valley’s most prestigious wineries with their fruit; they have their own winery too. It’s great story: the family purchased 35 acres between the Napa River and the Napa Valley Railroad in Calistoga with a single $10 gold coin. Today that same family owns approximately 1,000 acres in Napa Valley with over 300 acres designated as a preserve intact with its natural state and 635 acres farmed as certified organic vineyards. $89 for the 4-course dinner and 5 amazing wines. Dinner at 6:45pm; Reception with Morgaen at 6:15pm. Reserve now! This will sell out fast at this price. – Sold Out

<a id="Solare-Silvia-Cellars-wine-gathering"></a>Meet Antonio Silvia of Silvia Cellars

June 15 - Meet Antonio Silvia of Silvia Cellars

We love doing fun wine gatherings here, and we especially like the wines of Silvia Cellars based in Sonoma Valley. On Thursday, June 15, we have Antonio Silvia, the owner and winemaker of Silvia Cellars, here from 5pm to 6:30pm and he will be pouring his great line-up of wines that he created … and we will be also serving small plates from our Kitchen. It is a “happy hour” “open house” type gathering, and for the $25/person price you get pours of all his wines and Solare small plates designed to complement the wines. Chef Accursio wants me to highlight that Antonio is from Sicily (Catania) so he is, of course, a great guy that makes great wines. 🙂 Come for the entire time … come for just 30-45 minutes … you’ll love it! Please RSVP as we are limiting the gathering to 20 persons so everyone can spend time with Silvia.

<a id="Solare-Don-Fulano-Tequila-Dinner"></a>Tequila Dinner with Sergio Mendoza of Don Fulano

May 24 - Tequila Dinner with Sergio Mendoza of Don Fulano

Do you love fine Agave spirits? Are you curious of the latest trends and influences affecting tequila production in the second decade 21st century? Then you must join us at Solare as we host an afternoon and evening with Sergio Mendoza of Don Fulano Tequila. Located the heart of Tequila, Sergio and his family have been not only involved in blue Weber Agave cultivation for over 100 years, they have literally pushed the industry forward with their bold vision and constant desire to experiment and innovate.

First, there is a free Happy Hour event with Sergio from 4pm to 6pm – Industry & Consumers welcome — hang out with Sergio with discounted pours of his Tequila and special cocktails by Tommy of Sergio’s awesome Tequila and Happy Hour food specials – Free

Second, we have a sit-down dinner with Sergio at 6:30pm that is 4 courses, 5 tequilas and true decadence. Boutique dinner – very limited seating for this dining & drinking evening with Sergio – $88/person includes the dinner and Don Fulano tequilas. The dinner begins at 6:30pm. Reserve today! – The Dinner is Sold Out but the Happy Happy gathering with Sergio is totally available

There are a couple things that make Don Fulano special. The first is their connection to the land and agave. Sergio’s uncle is Enrique Fonseca, owner of Distileria La Tequilena where Don Fulano (as well as other great tequilas are produced), as well as head of the Fonseca clan, the single largest land and agave owner in the highlands of Jalisco. This is big because not only do they own the distillery their products come from, but the own the land and the agave that grows on it. It is next to impossible to find tequilas of this nature, where the entire means of cultivation, transportation, cooking and distillation are done “in house”. This will be an epic afternoon and evening for agave lovers.
