OK … this is a crazy … but guaranteed to be delightful … Italian Wine Dinner where the focus is purely on wines from Italy that are 100% merlot.  As you likely know, some of the best wines in the world (think Petrus) are 100% merlot.  This is also the most expensive wine dinner we have done as these selections are super pricey (the Masseto we are pouring is $625 a bottle!) The price is $245 for 5 pure merlot wines and Chef Accursio’s 4-course pairing dinner.   Here are the wines we are pouring:  Masseto, Le Macchiole “Messorio”, Castello di Ama “L’Apparita”, Fasoli Gino “Orgno”, and Petra “Quercegobbe”.  6:30pm Dinner.  Incredible.   RSVP Today – 16 seat limit in our small private room.

February 17 - Cooking Class: Fish and Shellfish + Fish Market

Meet at Solare and drive together to a local fish market (less than 3 miles) to learn about fish and buying fresh fish with confidence. Then we all head back to Solare to prepare and cook some great seafood dishes. Chef Accursio was born on the coast of the island of Sicily, and he will teach you how to cook the following incredible dishes: Traditional Cioppino (fish stew), Crudo all’Italiana (sashimi Italian style!), and “Pesce alla Siciliana” (whole fish). Seafood lovers will not want to miss this opportunity. NOTE that for this class, the fun starts at 10am instead of the normal 10:30am as we are visiting the fish market. We meet at Solare with an Italian-style coffee of your choice and a pastry. Chef Accursio shares his passion and reveals his mastery of the world’s most celebrated confection, chocolate. Through a step-by-step introduction to chocolate, Chef Accursio will cover buying, tasting, tempering, coating and decorating with chocolate in a hands-on environment. After various skills are demonstrated, you will have the opportunity to work with your own chocolate, and use it in cold and baked pastries as well as learn to use chocolate as a sweet and savory enhancement to various main dishes. Regardless of your experience, this chocolate workshop will provide you with skills and knowledge that will pay you back for years to come! The class will cover chocolate/cacao, different techniques, Cocoa Cake sponge, Cocoa ravioli, Truffles, Mascarpone Mousse.
