March 10 - Cooking Class: Fish and Shellfish + Fish Market – Sold Out
Meet at Solare and drive together to a local fish market (less than 3 miles) to learn about fish and buying fresh fish with confidence. Then we all head back to Solare to prepare and cook some great seafood dishes. Chef Accursio was born on the coast of the island of Sicily, and he will teach you how to cook the following incredible dishes: Traditional Cioppino (fish stew), Crudo all’Italiana (sashimi Italian style!), and “Pesce alla Siciliana” (whole fish). Seafood lovers will not want to miss this opportunity. NOTE that for this class, the fun starts at 10am instead of the normal 10:30am as we are visiting the fish market. We meet at Solare with an Italian-style coffee of your choice and a pastry. Italian wine is served for students interested in “cooking with wine”. – Limit 10 — $85/student that includes the class, wine, and lunch. Secure your spot today. – Sold Out

March 09 - March 10 - A Weekend of Artisanal Agave @ Solare ~ Friday=Tequila & Saturday=Mezcal
Read on if you love agave, or want to learn more about artisanal Tequilas and Mezcals. Here is the short story: as you (hopefully) know, Solare has a strong connection and love for agave … and in support of the “Mexico in a Bottle” event happening on Sunday, March 11, at Bread and Salt, we have 2 dinners, one focused on Tequila and the second focused on Mezcal. For the Tequila Dinner it is a boutique dinner limited to 18 persons with William Erickson (6th Generation of Fortaleza) and Eduardo Orendain (4th Generation of Arette and his father was the former mayor of the town of Tequila). For the Mezcal dinner Saturday, we have Esteban Morales who is likely the #1 person today in the world with the deepest knowledge and experience with Mezcal in our main dining room. Both dinners start at 7pm; both dinners are $98. Reserve today via email or call 619-270-9670. You want to join these dinners. Very rare opportunity.

February 24 - Cooking Class: Ossobuco and Risotto – Sold Out
For this class, you will be transported form San Diego to Lombardia, Italy, to learn how the perfect Ossobuco is made. The key to classic Ossobuco is exactly how the meat is braised, and that is one of many things you will learn from Chef Accursio. Lombardia is famous for their Ossobuco! And what does a wonderful plate of Osso Buco need? Risotto! Chef Accursio will also lead you to prepare the world’s best risotto where the rice is the prefect level of “creamy-ness” but the kernels are still whole and firm. This is great risotto – but it is not easy to make – unless you join this class! The fun starts at 10:30am at Solare with an Italian-style coffee of your choice and a pastry. Italian wine is served for students interested in “cooking with wine”. – Limit 10 – $85/student that includes the class, wine, and lunch. Secure your spot today. – Sold Out
