June 06 - Elisa and Brian are getting married! Solare is Closed!

Yes! It is true – Elisa and Brian are getting married on this date … and we are closing the restaurant so the full Solare Team can attend the ceremony and join the party. Solare will be closed (yikes!) all day on Saturday, June 6. (Hey! I recommended that they married on a Monday. That didn’t fly too far. Ha Ha! :-) ).

May 31 - “Heart of Spring”

Early “save the date” announcement! We will be having a hyper-local “Heart of Spring” feast on Sunday, May 31, to celebrate the flavors and tastes of Spring in San Diego. You will not want to miss this dinner! This is extra-special as we will be doing the dinner outside on the lawn next to Solare. We have one long community table … and we have teamed with folks across San Diego County for all the ingredients and drinks. As examples, we are working with Tommy Gomes at Catalina Offshore to have a “caught that day” 125+ pound fish be prepared “snout to tail” for the dinner. Modern Times and us are teaming up on special beer. And more! Please send us a note if you would like to be on the list when I send out the final details and open the reservations. Very limited seating – it will sell out right away.

May 23 - Cooking Class: Cucina Napoletana

Situated under Mount Vesuvius, Neapolitan cuisine is inspired by the Greek and Roman Empire traditions — one of the best cuisines in Southern Italy. The fun starts at 10:30am at Solare with an Italian-style coffee of your choice and a pastry. Italian wine is served for students interested in “cooking with wine”. – Limit 10 – $75/student that includes the class, wine, and lunch. Contact us for details. 2 spots left
