November 18 - Tommy Gomes – An Evening of Seafood

Do you love seafood? If yes, this could be the most special dinner you’ll have! San Diego’s own incredible fishmonger, Tommy Gomes, is at Solare for an “Evening of Seafood”. The short summary is that we know of no one that knows more about seafood … and who has stronger opinions! … than Tommy. And he is an excellent speaker with fun charisma, and he will both delight you and scare you (in a good way) with his talk.

November 13 - San Diego Bay Wine + Food Festival — Grand Tasting

Solare is delighted to be part of the San Diego Bay Wine+Food Fest Grand Tasting on Saturday, Nov 13. It is (by far) the largest and most fun wine event in the area. We have a “booth” at the event with tastes of great Solare food.

November 11 - San Diego Bay Wine+Food Festival Dinner @ Solare Ristorante!  A Grand Evening in Piemonte with Barolo and Barbaresco

The San Diego Bay Wine + Food Festival and Solare have teamed up to provide a Grand Wine Dinner during this big annual wine event. 

For this, we have designed a Piemonte, Italy, focused wine dinner highlighting the legendary regions of Barolo, Barbaresco, and The Langhe! 

Spend an evening in Piemonte! Join this Piemonte, Italy focused Grand Wine Dinner highlighting the legendary region of Barolo, Barbaresco, and the Langhe. This dinner is happening at Solare Ristorante in Liberty Station. Solare was recently added to the Michelin Guide as a Bib Gourmand restaurant.

Embark on an in-depth exploration of the amazing wines from the Langhe in Piemonte that includes the legendary Barolo and Barbaresco wine regions.

This is a 5-course dinner with each course carefully designed to pair with the wines. Solare has selected 7 great Piemonte wines including two classic Barolos, a Barbaresco, and even the exotic Barolo Chinato to complement the dessert. Note that it is Italian Truffle season — and truffles are included on the menu. The team at Solare is excited to share their passion for Piemonte wines and great Italian cuisine with you.

October 31 - Solare is closed all day for a Team Party!

It’s been a long 18 months – so finally, we are taking a much needed day off so we can relax and have fun together on Halloween! 

For our team it is a fun-filled day of games, great food, and drink.   It is a family affair and we (of course) have an inflatable bouncy room.   You can find me there!!  😎 

Bottom Line: Solare is closed all day on Sunday, Oct 31st. We will be open again at 4:30pm on Monday, November 1. 

October 28 - Mezcal ~ Special Dinner with Origen Raiz

Mezcal! Come join us and see (taste!) what the growing excitement around mezcal is all about.

We are doing a very special tasting dinner led by one of the leaders of the mezcal world.

Join owner Bildo Saravia, Tommy, and me as we dive deep with 5 mezcals from 5 wild agaves that Bildo and Origen Raiz creates in Oaxaca & Durango. We pair the select 5 mezcals with a 3-course Solare pairing dinner.
