September 17 - Solare @ San Diego Gourmet Pizza Fest

Solare will be at this cool PIZZA EVENT right here in Liberty Station – right across the street from Solare. Yes, the San Diego Gourmet Pizza Fest is a 21+ outdoor festival showcasing amazing restaurants competing for San Diego’s best gourmet pizza. The pizza will be judged by a panel of judges, as well as our attendees, and will include 10 beer samples. Join this great day lounging with friends listening to music, tastings and more! When: September 17th — Time: 11:00am to 2:00pm — Where: NTC Liberty Station — Ingram Plaza — 2640 Historic Decatur Rd, San Diego, CA 92106. At the festival, you will get to sample pizza from the many restaurants, vote for your favorite, sample at least 10 beer tastings, listen to great music, and all in our wonderful San Diego weather. September 10 - Cooking Class – Authentic Pizza from Scratch

Have you ever wanted to learn how to make pizza in the authentic style from the renowned city of Napoli? How about a tasty Sfincione from Sicily; Focaccia from Liguria? Here is your perfect opportunity — Pizza Chef Brian will guide you through each step – starting with making the dough from scratch. Each student will take home extra dough to show off their pizza making skills that evening at home! The fun starts at 10:30am at Solare with an Italian-style coffee of your choice and a pastry. Italian wine is served for students interested in “cooking with wine”. – Class size limited — $75/student that includes the class, wine, and lunch. Contact us for details.

August 26 - Best of San Diego Party – San Diego Magazine

In the fountain courtyard right behind Solare, San Diego Magazine is having their annual “Best of San Diego” Party!! Solare is a Winner in 3 categories so we will be there in full force. August 15 - Ferragosto Wine Dinner @ Piazza 1909 with 4 Italian Chefs!

Join this fun dinner! Three Italian restaurants with 4 Italian Chefs have been teaming up since December, and this is the 3rd Dinner the Team is doing … and this tinme it is at Piazza 1909! The dinner features: Chefs Cassineri Mario and Francesca Penoncelli from Bice San Diego ~ Chef Stefano Ceresoli from Piazza 1909 ~ Chef Accursio Lota from Solare Ristorante.

Great cuisine & wine tasting dinner under the stars. Made in Italy! And August 15 is “Ferragosto”, which is a major summer Italian feast introduced by emperor Augustus in 18 BC to celebrate the harvest and the end of a long period of intense agricultural labor. August 13 - August 14 - ArtWalk @ Liberty Station 2016

Right across the street from Solare! And NOTE that Solare is open for Lunch on *both* Saturday and Sunday this weekend for the event (normally we open at 4:30pm on Sundays). I recommend reservations for lunch (and dinner!) this weekend. It’s a wonderful event! Yes, celebrate Creativity at ArtWalk Liberty Station . This 11th annual festival moved to Liberty Station in 2013, and the venue was a tremendous success. Artists love the flat grassy park with easy load-in and strike access, and the layout provides every artist with a corner space. Attendees will enjoy the opportunity to purchase artwork from more than 175 fine artists, all in a beautiful al fresco setting, plus live music, interactive art for adults and kids, and delicious street food options.
