August 21 - Italian Wine Dinner – Salcheto Estate in Tuscany
Italian Wine Dinner at Solare Ristorante – join us this Monday, August 21, and meet the owner & winemaker of a very cool Tuscan winery in the region of Montepulciano.
His name is Michele Manelli – and he owns Salcheto Estate.
Michele and his team farm 145 acres of organic certified grapevines with a real focus on biodynamic techniques.
This is the land of Sangiovese!
You will love his wines – and Exec Chef Denice Grande is designing a 4-course menu of dishes from this region of Tuscany.

August 02 - Italian Wine Dinner – Insiders View of Two Great Regions
Italian Wine Dinner at Solare Ristorante – and it’s an insiders view of two great Italian wine regions.
On Wednesday, August 2, we have Petra Belliti and Tommy Smerik leading the evening of wines from the two Italian regions of Lombardia and Emilia-Romagna.
Petra is a a certified Italian Wine Specialist from the North America Sommelier Association (NASA), as well as an Italian Wine Ambassador and Italian Wine Educator with Vinitaly International Academy. Tommy is a co-Founder of Solare and an Italian wine, spirits, and amaro expert.
You will love these wines – and Exec Chef Denice Grande is designing a 4-course menu of dishes from these two classic regions.

July 13 - Italian Wine Dinner – Journey with us to Verona, Italy
Let’s go on a journey to Verona, Italy – with Exec Chef Denice Grande and the Solare Team.
On Thursday, July 13, we are lucky to have the owner and winemaker of Zyme Estate here at Solare – he is in San Diego for just that one day.
Zyme Wine Estate is located outside of Verona, and the owner/founder and winemaker is Celestino Gaspari.
He is a leader in what’s happening with Amarone and other wines from the Verona region. Celestino started Zyme in 1999 and before that he was at Quintarelli for 15+ years.
Chef Denice and I are designing the menu to have a focus on the cuisine of the Verona area. It’s an “Evening in Verona” with the winemaker and great wines and Veronese dishes.

July 06 - Wine Dinner – A Sonoma Evening with Hugh Chappelle
Ciao! We have an amazing Winemaker from Sonoma that we would like you to meet. Here’s what’s happening …
Next Thursday, July 6, we have winemaker, Hugh Chappelle, from La Follette Wines and Quivira Vineyards here in San Diego leading a wonderful Wine Dinner.
It is “An Evening in Sonoma” with a pure focus on Sonoma wines.
We are especially excited about this evening because we have the beautiful pairing on July 6 of a very knowledgeable, authentic, and charismatic winemaker with his delicious wines.
